August 31 Candidate Forum on mental illness and addiction at The Old Church in downtown Portland. 

The Forum is organized by members of the Mental Health Association of Portland.

The Forum will have a live audience at The Old Church, be live-streamed on YouTube, and will be available to watch on YouTube afterward. The YouTube live-stream will be closed captioned. The Forum will be live-streamed via Facebook on the The Old Church page.

The Forum will start at 9 AM and end at roughly 3:30 PM. Doors will open at 8:30 AM. Each District will have a 90 minute session and the mayor's race will have a 60 minute session. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your session and check in with the facilitator. They will be at a sign-in table 15 minutes prior to your session. Latecomers will not participate in the Forum

Each session will be facilitated (see below) and will have two time-keepers to keep the Forum moving smoothly. Rules about time will be explained by your facilitator. Note the yellow fan held by the time-keepers will mean your time to speak is almost up, and the red fan means you should stop speaking. Each candidate will be given time to introduce themselves. The remainder of the session will be question and answer, with limited time to answer questions. The amount of time to give an introduction or respond to questions will depend on the number of candidates in a session. That amount of time will be determined by the facilitator with assistance from the time-keepers. Follow the facilitator’s instructions. No campaign signs or paraphernalia onstage. No interrupting. No crosstalk. If you’re disruptive, the facilitator will excuse you from the Forum. The Portland Peace Team will be in attendance.
