PolicyTalks: County & City Collboration
Time & Location
Aug 19, 2024, 5:30 PM
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 7600 N Hereford Ave, Portland, OR 97203, USA
About the event
Government is essential to improving our lives.
Locally, we look to the City of Portland and Multnomah County to implement programs and policies on public safety, housing, public health, transportation, and more.
Yet, it can be difficult to understand which government is responsible for specific areas, and where to go when you need support.
During this event, we will examine the county and city’s roles and explore what it will take to implement policy solutions around housing and community care that work for an increasingly diverse region.
Join us for: PolicyTalks: County and City Collaboration Monday, August 19, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
This PolicyTalks will be hosted in person in the St. Johns neighborhood at: St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church 7600 N Hereford Ave, Portland, OR 97203
We’ve brought together panelists: + Susheela Jayapal, former Multnomah County Commissioner + Carmen Rubio, Portland City Commissioner Member and Mayoral candidate + Shannon Singleton, Former nonprofit executive and candidate for Multnomah County
Recently, there have been an increasing number of news stories about the conflict between the Portland City Council and the Multnomah County Commission.
Is this focus on conflict just to sell papers or have tensions between these two government agencies actually increased?
Where are the City and County working well together?
What can be done to reduce the conflict and focus on solutions that work?
We know Portland is at its best when we work together to find solutions, which is why we need to understand the challenges and opportunities.
Please bring all your questions to our next policy talk.
We are stronger together.
Sincerely,
Fabiola Cases Portland for All Volunteer
